Platform blueprint

One product, three interfaces, zero wasted motion

UPSCPRELIMSTEST is structured around the same separation used by strong global assessment products: simulate cleanly, review deeply, and analyze selectively. The user should never feel all three modes at once.

Exam mode

Palette navigation, mark for review, strike-out eliminator, highlighted stem lines, and real timer pressure in a distraction-light shell.

Review mode

Each question resolves into answer status, explanation, notebook takeaway, and structured text-first remediation with no video layer.

Analytics mode

Readiness band, subject radar, pacing scatter, and a topic heatmap that pushes weak areas forward instead of burying them in tables.

Interaction patterns
  • Question palette with visited, answered, and marked states.
  • Option eliminator for Boolean-style UPSC MCQs.
  • Line-level highlighting for prompt focus and keyword isolation.
  • Negative marking baked directly into the mock result calculation.
  • One-click notebook capture from post-test review.
Implementation note

This build is intentionally local-first. Attempts and notebook notes are stored in the browser so the full UX is testable now. When you provide your real test questions, the same typed question format can be wired to an API or database without redesigning the interface.
